Great piece, Melissa. Something like a wake or funeral, which becomes so "normal" to us adults as we age is, understandably, so strange to a child. That set of sheets--what a powerful image and memory. Thanks for sharing this.

Such a moving piece - as a parent you don’t always know what to do or say where death is present. I always thought our children would figure it out from our example, but we were visibly emotional as well in those situations. I guess I just hope it wasn’t too traumatic for them.
